Written and performed by Miriam Needham and directed by Donal O’Kelly, Compostela runs in the Dublin Fringe Festival 2019 from Tuesday 10 September to Saturday 14 September 2019. Tickets are available from fringefest.com.
Set in June 2018, after the Irish referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment, Compostela explores themes of activist burnout, power, and disconnection.
The play was written during a Short Theatre Artist Residency at the Hawk’s Well Theatre in 2018. This production for the Dublin Fringe Festival 2019 has been supported by the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Dublin Fringe Lab, and Fishamble’s New Play Clinic.
