Miriam Needham is a Lecoq-trained actor, writer and theatre-maker.

Recent projects include The Schooldays of Thaddeus K (Blue Raincoat), Alice in Wonderland (Blue Raincoat), Play (Blue Raincoat), The Big Wall (Hawks Well), Bláth (Branar), Mise (Branar), and Macbeth (Offstage/Shakepeare & Co).

She has also written and performed her own work, such as Leathanach Bán (First Fortnight 2018), Rise & Repeal (online comedy short), Love Underwater (Scene + Heard 2017), Pinhole (Moving Bodies Festival 2016). As part of Mumbro Top, she has devised and performed comedy sketches which were performed at Oireachtas na Gaeilge, Electric Picnic, and Culture Night. She recently wrote her first full length play, Roots, as part of the Time at the Well Residency at the Hawks Well Theatre, Sligo.

As a theatre and movement facilitator she has worked with Jigsaw Youth Advisory Panel, Helium Arts, Moontour, Feachtas, and Óga Yoga.

She has also volunteered as a clown and performer with The Flying Seagull Project, bringing light and laughter to children in refugee camps in Greece and slums and orphanages in India.
